Fics like You Really Got Me (So I Can't Sleep At Night)
“This green monstrosity?” Erik laughs, and just like that, the tension dissipates. Snark is good. Banter is familiar. This is known territory. “It’s an antique, I’ll have you know,” he says, jabbing Erik’s side with his elbow, hard enough to take the laughing down a notch. “but yes, beneath the green couch.” With a flick of his wrist, Erik turns on the ceiling light. Charles hadn’t even noticed the darkness. Bathed in the yellowed, soft tones of the lamp, the living room looks inviting, from the bookshelves that line the majority of the walls, to some of Raven’s most experimental art pieces he had framed and hung all over the remaining free space on the floral wallpaper. He turns to see Erik looking around with a strangely open expression on his face. He seems — well. He looks fond, which is preposterous. — There's a rat in Charles' apartment, so he calls Erik to help him out. Their relationship has shifted ever since their weekend stuck in a hotel room together. What was supposed to be a hunting party turns into something else. Somehow, feelings are revealed. Inspired by s6 e11 of Mad Men, “The Doorway”.
