Fics like No Coming Back Even if We Could

Dave is just trying to make it with his new band and keep the world from crashing down around him, the wounds of his firing from Metallica still fresh. Not having a permanent place to stay is making those things difficult, so he relies on dealing (and using) drugs to improve his situation. After business dries up, though, he's left hungry and desperate enough to consider an opportunity from a stranger to make ends meet. Not to mention his ex-bandmate/ex-friend/ex-something-or-other who he keeps running into. Set between the release of Kill Em All and KIMBABIG (early 1984-ish)
