Fics like god rest my soul (I miss who I used to be)

“You want to have an heir?” The skepticism is palpable in his tone, as though he’s sure he must have misunderstood her. She doesn’t quite blame him. “No,” she replies, painfully honest. “I want to have a baby, Xaden. But I’m willing to give you an heir.” Lonely, desperate, and miserable, Violet’s life as reluctant queen of Tyrrendor in a post-war Aretia is less fairytale and more nightmare. When the husband she never asked for denies her the one last thing she’d hoped could improve her situation, she breaks. A tale of love and despair – and of how sometimes you need to break completely in order to heal and then, eventually, live.
