Fics like The Shark In Your Waters

Zuko had scrubbed the smell of sex and blood of himself, but that didn’t stop it from clinging to the inside of his nose. Could the others smell it? Could they taste his shame in the back of their throats too? Irrationally, Zuko wanted to crawl inside himself. Peel those watching eyes off him; don’t look at me! They knew, somehow. They could see it on him. Some kind of tell, some stain he couldn’t see or wash away. What if they all knew? Laughing behind his back at what he’d given up just for a fraction of a chance to get his honor back. What honor? Any scrap he’d had left after the Agni Kai was lost the moment he spread his legs for Zhao. They could all see it, couldn’t they? Zuko wondered if he could ever be rid of the things Zhao did to him. Zuko deals with the aftermath. He goes about it the same way he deals with every other shitty thing in his life: with gritted teeth, stubborn pride, and a whole lot of yelling.
