Fics like The Hunter and the Fox

When he rounds the large tree into the small clearing, Rupert is struck dumb. Before him isn’t a trapped fox. It’s a maiden, wide-eyed and sparsely dressed, pressed against the stone. If Rupert believed in God’s miracles, he would be giving thanks now. The girl in front of him is tall and beautiful, although she looks to be still on the cusp of youth. The shimmering rainbow-bright shift that comes to the top of her thighs is as thin and fragile as spider silk, clinging wetly to her body. The man breathes through his mouth as he takes in every detail - from her wild auburn-curled locks to the rosy nipples and rounded hips clearly visible through the wet fabric that clings to her skin. “Who are you?” he finally asks, his voice a hoarse whisper. Lord Rupert Campbell-Black has taken the wild and pagan lands of Brittania and tamed it under his hands, building the village of Penscombe. But forces beyond his imagining still haunt the forests around him - and on the day he meets the shape shifting maiden, his life is forever changed.
