Fics like Longing for it all

Laurie knew softball was never really her thing, but yet she still had a desire to keep playing because she felt it was the only way her parents would acknowledge her. No matter how hard Laurie tries, giving her best efforts every missed swing, missed pop fly, missed grounder, all while her dad still ignores her and the effort she gives and her mom never even attends her games. Laurie starts to lose herself after a devastating injury leaving her out for the season. Realizing she lost her only chance to feel seen by her parents she goes into a bad state as her mental health declines each day. Her friends Kai and Rochelle notice her mood drastically changing at school and try their best to help her.
