Fics like And in-between, is never as it seems

“Edmundo Björn Diaz, will you marry me?” “My middle name is not Björn.” “That's not a no, but I really need a yes." “Buck, what's going on?” Buck rises and shows Eddie a tiny box in a dark green shade, and when he opens it, inside are two matching gold bands on a dark red velvet cushion. “My husband and stepson are covered by my benefits, but you'll need to make an honest man out of me before I can submit the papers with the department." or Eddie plans to move to El Paso. Everything is set, until he discovers that recent budget cuts have forced the El Paso Fire Department to close several stations and implement a hiring freeze. Without a job with benefits, he and Chris are on the verge of losing their insurance. That’s when Buck comes up with a plan. Because really, what’s a little insurance fraud between friends?
