Fics like Fractured Horizon

A shattered world. An icy wasteland. A realm on the brink of destruction. Sonic finds himself trapped in a reality where time expands and his speed is useless against the cold. His only hope: a piece of the Paradox Prism, an unstable energy source that keeps him alive. But he is not alone. Faces he once knew, now scarred by war and fractured by bitter struggle. Among them is Shadow, the lone guardian who sees Sonic as an anomaly, harbinger of both hope and misfortune. Their difficult relationship is tied to a past that neither of them fully understands. Shadow sees Sonic as more than a comrade; a past between them that Sonic is only beginning to piece together. As Sonic travels through this broken world, time and memory blur. The past whispers and the future is uncertain. Each revelation brings with it more questions. In this frozen wasteland, time is running out. Sonic must face not only the paradox of existence, but also the emotions he shares with Shadow. The answer to their intertwined destinies lies in the unraveling of time itself. AKA: Sonic tries to get home, but in the process tragically falls in love with another version of Shadow.
