Fics like Galinda Upland’s (Mostly) Foolproof Guide to Courtship

“Of course I knew!” she lies, but she does it with such confidence that it’s practically the truth, and she’s sure Boq will believe her. “I just… didn’t realize everyone else knew, obviously! But since you do know! I suppose I can be honest with you now! Yes, I am courting Elphaba. Very seriously! As one does!” “As one does…?” “So sorry that I couldn’t like boys, Boq! It’s not you, you know, it’s me,” she says airily, patting his arm. “But hey! Once you and Nessa get married, we can be like, in-laws! Won’t that be fun?” [or: Galinda Upland never does anything halfway, so when she realizes that she's been accidentally courting Elphaba, she’s determined to do it properly! But the subtle act of romance proves to be a bit trickier than she expected.]
