Fics like NewsRadio - War of the Worlds

Strange green lights burst from the barren red surface of the distant planet Mars... Traveling at the speed of light to the surface of the planet Earth... Streaking across the night skies like falling stars to human eyes... At New York City's celebrated (mostly by the staff) NewsRadio Station WNYX, the strange events as they happen are viewed as mysterious and concerning by the long-suffering News Director, Dave Nelson, journalist Lisa Miller (with whom Dave is in a passionate love affair), and their somewhat insane boss, Mr. James, and their even more insane coworkers, Bill McNeal, Catherine Duke, Matthew Brock, Joe Garelli, and Beth. Then the first lands in Central Park... When the world quickly becomes engulfed in a war the likes of which never seen before, the WNYX gang find themselves struggling to survive. Feelings long pent up explode, irrational grudges and annoyances let loose at the worst of times, as the Martials unleash their full wrath upon Humanity... Inspired by Jeff Wayne's legendary musical version of H.G. Wells' timeless classic, "The War of the Worlds", sitcom television's craziest characters find themselves facing the deadliest experience they have ever known...
