Fics like You Hold My Life In Your Hands (But Never Take It)

For months, Shadow and Sonic have been finding eachother late into the night and having brutal spars. Nothing is more exhilarating to Sonic. They throw their lives at each other and trust the other enough not to take it. But as Sonic's trust grows, so does his care. He wants to know what drives Shadow to their late-night fights. When he finds out, he comforts Shadow. OR Sonic and Shadow regularly beat each other up in the middle of the night until one night Sonic refuses to. Content Warnings: seeking injury (through fighting), non-graphic violence, mentioned PTSD nightmare- Shadow briefly describes seeing Maria's corpse in his nightmare
