Fics like A Special Day

Delta and Color were spending a wonderful evening cuddled on the couch, snacking on some popcorn, while they watched a dumb movie about some humans trying to deal with a three-headed shark when an ad break came on and Color muted the television and turned to him. “I was thinking of booking a table at that steakhouse you like next weekend to celebrate our anniversary, what do you say?” he said, not an ounce of malice or passive-aggressiveness in his tone. And yet, those simple few words were enough to send a shock of panic through Delta’s system. Because, truth be told, he had entirely forgotten that their anniversary was coming up. Color didn’t push any expectations on him, and he was certain that he would have understood why such an important event had slipped from his mind. His partner hardly ever got upset at him after all. But it was also their very first anniversary and he would be the one feeling like shit if he managed to mess it up. --- or, Delta will be damned before he makes his partner feel forgotten again!
