Fics like Rocket Queen

Summer 1986. Valerie Anderson is a broke, bored waitress stuck in a Sunset Strip diner and dreaming of escape. By twenty-two, she's fled her mother's faith and vowed never to return. Enter: Axl Rose. He's a god on stage and a mess of contradictions off it--infuriating, electrifying, and raw in a way she just can't shake. At once, his rootlessness upends her routine. What blooms as infatuation swiftly spirals into obsessive devotion triggering the suspicion of Valerie's best friend, Jill. Her criticism rips open old wounds and tears Valerie between the only love she's ever known and imminent self-destruction; whatever differences exist between the two. Sex, drugs, and resurrected histories scar the rise of Guns N' Roses and tempt the fall of its troubled muse. Her past isn't dead, only angered. But does it wield a sharper knife than the life Axl leads? ⋅───⊱༺ ♰ ༻⊰───⋅ Book one of the Love Letters from a Californian Motel series. (Not an exact repost of the original.
