Evan, an 11-year-old peasant from 11th-century England, lived a harsh life as a serf in the village of Stowleigh. While foraging in the woods one fateful day, he was abducted by aliens and catapulted into the distant future. Disoriented, terrified, and alone, Evan awakens in a forest, believing he has been cast into a land of demons. Enter Alex Turner, a rugged and kind-hearted forest ranger grieving his own losses. When Alex finds Evan, he sees a scared child and a soul needing protection. Despite their language, culture, and time differences, Alex vows to help Evan adjust to the modern world, providing him with the care and compassion that were missing from his life. As Alex and Evan navigate their growing bond, challenges mount. Evan’s past haunts him through intense nightmares and moments of regression, while Alex faces scrutiny and prejudice from the state, questioning his ability to care for a child as a single gay man. Together, they confront a hostile legal system and the lingering scars of their individual traumas, fighting to create a family neither of them expected. This is a tale of found family and the transformative power of unconditional love.
