Fics like every piece of me (hurting for you)

“Sometimes, when it comes to family, common sense and procedure go out of the window” Hotch’s own words had been ringing in his ears for months now. Every time there was a particularly dangerous case, every time the Unsub got too close for comfort; his own goddamn words rang in his ears like church bells. They were meant to be for Morgan, to help him understand Spicer’s actions. They weren’t supposed to feel so personal, so true. Reid was a trained fucking FBI agent and a grown adult. Hotch’s reactions were irrational, utterly unprofessional and entirely inappropriate. ***** Set during season 5, when Hotch realises that every case is hard when you're in love with one of your team members. Hotch struggles with his protective streak, desperate to protect Reid from any perceived dangers, but Reid finally gets sick of it.
