“You’re speaking of it like it is that simple.” Arthur said, drawing Merlin’s eyes to meet his king’s finally. “You either have it or you don’t. That’s what you are implying.” “When did Morgana’s dreams begin?” Merlin asked rather than answer. “She’s had them for as long as I’ve known her.” Arthur frowned deeper. “Her mother was an initiate to the priesthood of the Old Religion, as you call it, before Uther banned such practices. She unfortunately died before she could teach her daughter control. Morgana is a Seer. Her dreams are visions of what has been, what could be, and what will be, with no discernable differences to the undisciplined mind.” Merlin said gently. “She was born with that ability. She did not ask for it, she did not study to gain it, and she certainly did not explore it when she was forced to live here in Camelot when Gorlois died.” “Magic drove her mad.” Arthur argued, his face angry. “Fear drove her mad.” Merlin countered firmly, not backing down.
