Merlin, however, sees it for the first time from the eyes of a maid, a knight, a royal, a stable boy, a barkeeper etc. Surprisingly enough, Gwaine doesn’t even ask Merlin to prank Arthur. He just makes him listen. And that’s how bitter and depressed season 5 Merlin gets healed from his paranoia and self depreciation.
