Fics like Damned to the Waters

Six kids went missing on the night of October 24, 2012, the typical start to your average Halloween Thriller. No different than any cold case before, or after it, except that one of those kids was Jack’s little brother. The township Burgess left reeling from utter confusion, Emily Benett in mourning, and Jack traumatized, he searches for his fresh start in a city called Berk, located further up north in Pennsylvania where the clues run dry and the case colder still. However, while there, he gets evidence from an anonymous source that his brother might still be alive somewhere. Being the person that he is, Jack decides to follow the clues, and find his kiddo. Little does he know that not only will he become even more traumatized from this decision, but he will also endanger the lives of more than eight of his peers. One of which made the idiodic decision to fall in love with him. Bad news for Jack because despite everything, he can't help but absolutely swan dive from cloud nine.
