Fics like Herein and Thereafter

“Life is to us as the maze of Linnian was to Ulthanesh, its mysterious corridors leading to wondrous vistas and nightmarish encounters in equal measure. Each of us must walk the maze alone, treading in the footsteps of those who came before us, but forging new routes through the labyrinths of existence…” To everyone else, he was Paramount Ruler von Valancius, the bringer of a long peace and the man who created a world where humans and Aeldari could co-exist. To Yrliet, he was the man she loved and the man who loved her. A century after her disappearance, Yrliet von Valancius returns at last for her husband's funeral. When asked to help write his biography, she embarks on a journey through time and space, tracing the echoes of her and the Rogue Trader's time together, revisiting old friendships, and mending her relationships with her estranged children all in an effort to tell the love story that changed the Koronus Expanse. This is that love story.
