Fics like the regrets of Eddie Diaz

Blue eyes were the first thing he saw and his own hand came up, touching Buck’s cheek, fingertips right by his birthmark. Maybe God had finally taken pity on Eddie; given him this one last hallucination before the darkness took over again. Giving him Buck for just a brief moment of insanity to help him move on. Buck’s hand came up over Eddie’s, “We’re gonna get you out, okay? Just have to wait a few more minutes.” Even this fake Buck was still so optimistic. “Buck.” He had to say it, even to this false god. Buck met his gaze again, maybe hearing the intensity in which it was said. “Buck, I love you.” There. Much better last words or Eddie Diaz is hurt and alone on the job and takes the time to reflect on all the mistakes he's made in his life, because what else would he do?
