Fics like there ain't been no sun in LA

After the incident with the FaceTime call on Christopher’s birthday, Buck really should have seen it coming. Eddie was more than a little distraught after they hung up, tears in his eyes and hands shaking as he took the decorations down and tossed the cupcakes. Buck sat with him for a long time after he talked Tommy into leaving, unsure of what to say to make it better, almost certain he didn’t have the words necessary to help Eddie. The next morning, Eddie acted as if the previous night hadn’t happened at all. In the week that followed, he was always on the phone between calls, he heard him asking Chimney about how he took his leave when he went looking for Maddie, he saw Eddie and Hen having an intense conversation in the locker room. He should have seen it coming, and he didn’t. -- Eddie goes back to Texas to bring his son home. Buck handles this well.
