Fics like Protagonist Syndrome

Ben said words like “Isle of the Lost” and “descendants of villains” and “invite four students to Auradon Prep this year,” and the school was in an absolute frenzy. Doug…found he didn’t really care. Which made him the odd man out. No change there. In which being a sidekick means being helpful, being cheerful, and never letting it get to you, how unfair it really seems. It means paying attention, and not playing all your cards, especially to the protagonists. Because Doug, his family, his friends? They're not stupid. The VKs coming to Auradon Prep means big things. But stories change, based on who's doing the telling. And fairy tales are rarely as cut and dried as they seem. [on hiatus]
