Fics like a child who is trusted

Had Anakin truly been this thin, this malnourished and sickly, when he first arrived at the Temple? Had his clothes always been so ill-fitting and threadbare, his boots barely holding together? And had none of them—not one of their twelve—recognized his circumstances and offered him compassion? ----- One moment, Mace watches in horror as Anakin betrays the Jedi Order and becomes a Sith Lord. The next, he finds himself at the Temple a decade before the start of the war, and encounters a half-starved nine-year-old boy in threadbare clothing. Or, Mace Windu has a chance to redo the first meeting between himself and Anakin Skywalker and takes the opportunity to make things right.
