Fics like The Art Of Dying

Joe Duplantier, the lead vocalist and guitarist of Gojira, is overwhelmed by grief after the brutal murders of his nephew Brandon and his son Hans during a robbery. Struggling with profound despair, Joe's relationship with his bandmate and lover of six years, Christian Andreu, becomes strained as he grapples with the guilt of surviving his son and being unable to protect Christian from his inner turmoil. Meanwhile, Joe's brother, Mario, finds hope in his wife's pregnancy, anticipating the birth of their daughter, Phoenix, as a symbol of renewal. Joe's bond with his son, Hans, who had been a source of support in accepting Joe's bisexuality, leaves a deep void after Hans's death at sixteen, further isolating Joe. Torn between his love for Christian and the despair that engulfs him, Joe wrestles with suicidal thoughts as he searches for a reason to continue living amidst his overwhelming loss.
