Fics like Musings of a Crumbling Idol

Scoffing, Junko rises again. She fishes a pair of spectacles out of her breast pocket and slides them onto her face, peering cooly through the square lenses. “Why, it’s quite simple! I’m merely trying to impress upon you that the despair of a loss should be euphoric by itself.” She whips off her glasses and discards them, crushing them beneath her heel. “I mean, sure, you tooootally lost. And to a loser like Saihara, too! That’s sooo lame. Maybe you should have left the pianist alive like you planned.” Junko smirks. “But you didn’t see me crying when Makoto beat me, did you? Maybe I lost, but I still won.” Junko puts her hands on her hips, frowning. “This, though? None of this is winning, my dear girl.” --- Tsumugi Shirogane at the end of the world and the mirage of the ideal she once aspired to. --- Written for Dramaturgy: A Tsumugi Shirogane Zine
