Fics like they don’t know (about the things we do)

Oliver’s eyes stray back to the script. It’s a shift is what it is. There’s a before, with Buck and Eddie, and an after. Oliver absently chews on his bottom lip, remembering the first night when they—not as Buck and Eddie—but as Oliver and Ryan, as something real and tangible, when they— Ryan is right that it’s not a done deal. But near death, face to face, noses bumping into each other, breathing each other’s air—it feels like something. It’s also something because Eddie is also looking at Buck’s lips. Because Ryan is going to be looking at Oliver’s lips, and Oliver, just imagining it, wants. For him. For Buck. Oliver wants new. Or maybe he just wants Ryan.
