Fics like Fortune's Favor

Luck. It has defined Roman’s entire life. He’s a “Curse”, someone who brings misfortune to others simply by disliking them. Yet no matter how much he tries to suppress his emotions, he’s distrusted and shunned. A fact which left him desperate to get his needs met when he matured into a Sub, then without anyone to turn to when the only Dom he could find turned out to be a psycho. Now, after years of abuse, he’s starting over. New city, new job, and inevitably a new problem. What he needs is someone to put back together his shattered self-esteem, help work through his trauma, and ease his panic attacks. What he gets is Lieutenant Vance, a Dom with seemingly no qualms about using his Dom aura on Roman from the moment they meet, and without the slightest invitation. But as much as he knows he should resist, Roman doesn’t have the confidence. It’s easier to just shut up and let a Dom do whatever they want. Although, he doesn't really know what that is with Vance.
