Fics like Let's Dance Upon These Steps (Again)

“You look like…” Sun’s words trailed off before he slumped back onto the desk, shrugging. “Never mind. I don’t care anymore.” You’re not supposed to be like this you’re not supposed to be this hurt you’re not supposed to be sad, not like this- “Isn’t your family all back together Sunny?” the words tasted wrong, like filth and dust echoing in his voice box and he suddenly understood Ruin in a way he never wanted to before. “What family?” Sun muttered, rays not flickering or bouncing or swaying, just as deadly still as the rest of him was. “Why are you even here Moon? Do you want to kill me too?” (Because was this his destiny as a Moon? To keep hurting Sun, even when he wasn't around to disappoint him anymore?) “My name is Nexus,” he couldn’t help but mutter and he wasn’t sure what role he was supposed to play with his older brother. (Not anymore.) --- AU where Old Moon never came back and Nexus deals with the realizations of what that entails for his (former) family.
