Fics like The Future King

France, 1916. The Great War rages on. It is a dark time for humanity, and a young British soldier by the name of Arthur Pendragon does what he can to keep himself and his comrades alive amidst the blood and carnage of the Western Front. Hardened by his time in the trenches, Arthur cannot believe that his situation could get any worse. However, dark forces that had been dormant for millennia have suddenly returned, bringing power that had been the stuff of fantasy and nightmares into a world that was woefully unprepared to meet it. With the emergence of these dark forces, Arthur soon finds himself thrust headfirst into a new war he never knew existed, a destiny he never realized was his, and a legend that would change the world forever. This story is first of a series of the King Arthur legend re-contextualized for an alternate 20th century, drawn from a number of sources and adaptations as well as actual history. Updates every Saturday.
