Fics like Reign of Bloody Time

A night in the woods. A campfire burning low. Arthur asleep beside him, armor discarded, hair mussed, breathing soft and steady in a way that made Merlin’s chest ache even then. The glorious knights of old, snoring and mumbling in their bedrolls. He’d lain awake in that makeshift bedroll, staring at the stars and feeling the weight of secrets pressing against his ribs: magic, destiny, fear, longing. Too many things he could never say. Too many things that would have changed everything if he hadn’t waited until it was far, far too late. Arthur had rolled over in his sleep, muttering something about hopeless servants and worse kings, and Merlin had laughed quietly into the dark. He’d wanted, gods, he’d wanted, but wanting had been impossible then. It felt even more impossible now, and yet here he was, carving the magic from the future to open the past. But tearing a fracture in time wakes things that dream in the dark. Older magic. Older hungers. Attend a tale of one demigod's worship of a mortal and the cosmic-level consequences.
