Fics like What Was I Made For?

Sonic wakes up in Eggman’s base after being knocked out for who knows how long, fully prepared to kick robot butt into next week and bust his way out—but, this time, the doctor doesn’t march in with a speech about his latest evil scheme on his lips. This time, there’s no threats, no fanfare; Eggman keeps quiet hands behind his back, and a weird look sitting snug on his face. Because he has the infamous Sonic the Hedgehog captive in his base right now, he says, but there’s a blue streak running excited circles around familiar figures just outside. (There’s someone out there, pretending to be him, pretending to know his friends. And he doesn’t even know why.)
