Fics like teeth and tongue (put them on me)

To Eddie, it’s weird, almost wrong, that he can do all this now—can run and jump into the water, cannonballing right in the middle of everyone to cause maximum water damage, can dive deep until he pops up in front of Steve to spray water in his face—when just last summer, he couldn’t even get up to the bathroom without help. Months on months of bed rest, nearly a year of physical therapy, what felt like endless nights of sobbing into his pillow from the pain. It doesn’t feel real. It doesn’t feel like he earned it. — It’s the summer of 1987 and Eddie’s still healing, still falling in love.
