Fics like now i know why all the trees change in the fall.

Once Buck opens the door to the intruder of his date, he finds that it is no intruder at all. This boy has never once intruded anything. He’s as welcome here as though he’s a resident in the loft and not just inside the crevice of Buck’s heart. “Christopher,” he breathes out, peeking his head out of the door to scan the hallway. “Are you alone?” Chris doesn't answer at first. Buck takes the boy in, feeling an odd sense of deja vu. Notices that the inches he’s grown since he’d last turned up on his doorstep like this have nothing on the young, pained look on his face. If Buck squinted, he could pass for the same ten-year-old who’d run to him all those years ago after shattering a salad bowl. But the face he bears now… A salad bowl isn’t going to cut it. ____ OR Christopher runs to Buck after facing his mom’s lookalike and his dad’s betrayal.
