After Terrible Waste Pt1 Juno and Nureyev talk (it's sweeter than you'd expect) .-.-.-.-.-.-.-<3 “I know, baby, I know but we have to go. We’ll figure something out later. Right now, we have to hide” and then he was hauled up and half-dragged, half-carried to the safety of Melee’s place. Nureyev tried to run, to make his body move but the lack of food, sleep and the emotional blow had him fading fast. In the back of his mind a single thought repeated, over and over, “it was all for nothing” it had been all for nothing. Peter Nureyev had sacrificed everything; he’d taken his life and eagerly lain it down at the feet of the executives and what was the outcome? His whole life had been lived in service of monsters in exchange of smoke and mirrors. A pretty lie: you get us enough money and eventually we’ll give you your love back, he’ll wake up and then you can be together for ever. The ugly truth: his one care, his first love was one of many cogs in a hellish machine, a puppet in a horrific scenario straight out of Nureyev’s worst nightmares and worse of all, Nureyev himself had walked him down that path every step of the way. The road to hell, his mind supplied.
