“What’re you doing?” Tommy asks again, his words barely a whisper. This feels intimate, sacred. Like if he talks too loud, he’ll spook Evan and somehow break this magic around them. “Just… Memorizing your face”, Evan says and when Tommy finally opens his eyes, he’s blushing a lovely shade of pink. It covers his cheeks and the tips of ears, and when he’s really flustered or turned on, it spreads down his neck and spills onto his chest. “Why? Planning on going somewhere you won’t be able to see me?” he asks, and he means it as a joke but it doesn’t come out quite that way. The lightheartedness gets caught in his throat, and the tenderness in Evan’s touch is doing odd things to him, making his chest feel tight. “No”, Evan whispers. “You’re just pretty.”
