Fics like My Soul is Bound to Yours

Castiel is tired. Angels don’t sleep. This is a fact, one born of a simple difference in existence to humans, but Castiel has also once been human. He has gained and lost a soul, has experienced human bodily function and dreamed. Castiel is an angel again, and he doesn’t sleep. But he has slept before, and he knows what it feels like, and that’s how he knows: Castiel is tired. Castiel could see what mortals couldn’t, and could act on it in ways that other angels wouldn’t. All this to say that every time Sam and Dean fought, screamed, shouted with each other, died apart from each other, ran off to do something monumentally stupid without telling each other, their shared soul ripped a little more. Tore off a little more and screamed in agony, so loud that a prayer from either of them would be impossible to ignore.
