Fics like i know who you are

“You say that like—” Art wipes at his eyes, smiling coldly. “You say that like you expect us to be coached together. To share a coach. You really think that’ll go well, man? For fuck’s sake.” “I think you aren’t considering it enough.” To be honest, Patrick understood. When the idea came to him, a week ago, after the latest girl kicked him out, it had been mostly that—an idea, a daydream. But then by chance they had run into each other—Patrick had seen them at the Ritz, each of their hands entwined with a little girl’s, and felt something inside him splinter and shatter. How it had hurt, how it hurts still. They had both been his first, his friend, his girl, his loves—and now they had moved on, left him behind, made something new without him. He couldn’t explain what had possessed him then, to go up running, to charm the child with a magic trick, even in the face of Art’s shock and Tashi’s disgust. He couldn’t even remember what he’d said—but it’d gotten him here, hadn’t it? Sitting in the room of two people who had loved him, once. Patrick, Art, and Tashi meet earlier than expected. Discussions ensue.
