Fics like To Defy One's Destiny

Some spoilers for Remake/Rebirth abound. In a world where a single action could change the course of destiny, a mysterious force intervenes and brings a young Aerith face-to-face with an equally young Sephiroth. Their budding friendship turned romance was cut short after Sephiroth's fall from grace during the Nibelheim Incident. As she struggles to move on from his reported death, she meets an ex-SOLDIER whose weapon is familiar and whose quest is to find and stop him. A semi-canon-divergent AU.
