Fics like A Shift In the Winds

Sephiroth dreams – sees the man (monster) he could become. He then decides to take a different path. But destiny has a habit of staying the course, and he finds he will have to fight harder than he ever has before for the right to decide his own fate. Luckily for him, he has some help. (Or, in other words, a remix of FFVII, in which Sephiroth turns toward the truth in hopes of finding freedom, in which Aerith tries to become a Cetra her mother would be proud of, in which Zack strives to achieve his dream of becoming a hero, and in which Cloud, once again, just ends up saving the world).
