Bit by bit, Buck stopped. It began with the little things. First, he stopped checking his phone when he woke up. He used to do it everyday. He’d check for notifications on Chimney’s instagram, or maybe a new message from the 118 group chat. It wasn’t that anyone other than him texted at one in the morning, but sometimes he’d sleep past one of Cap’s old-timey GIFs or whatever. Sometimes, Athena would text and greet him good morning. And a few weeks into knowing him, Chris would send a morning message begging for help, normally because Eddie was trying to make pancakes again. So, with everything going on, Buck always made it a point that the moment his eyes opened, he would check his phone. So, Buck ceased checking his phone. After all, why did he even need to?
