Fics like Heaven Sent

(A COMPLETED REWRITE OF THIS FIC, "(REBUILD OF) HEAVEN SENT", IS AVAILABLE ON MY PROFILE. PLEASE READ THAT ONE. THIS ONE IS CONSIDERED ABANDONED.) “Kaname Madoka, do you value your own life?” “O-of course I do! My life, and everyone in it.” Madoka responded, coming a little closer to Akemi to stop her pitiful limp across the room. “Then you must never pilot an Eva. If you do, you’ll die. The life you hold dear will be ripped from you in an instant. Do you want that to happen, Kaname Madoka?” “Of course I don’t!” Madoka replied. "B-but still… What if one day, you’re hurt so badly that you can’t be a pilot anymore? If there’s no-one else around, then-” “That won’t happen.” Akemi said, with more certainty than Madoka could attribute to mere overconfidence. “So promise me, Kaname Madoka. Promise me you will never get inside one of those things, not for as long as you live.” Akemi-san, despite her confident voice and level words, had started to wobble on her feet. “I promise.” Madoka said. Akemi-san looked at the ground. “Good. That is the right choice, Kaname Madoka.”
