Fics like a diplomatic incident in the making

“If you laugh,” Carol says, “I’m starting an Aladna-Asgard war.” Val is not laughing. Val is currently busy appreciating the aesthetics of loose, gauzy sleeves on well-toned arms. “Is that meant to deter me?” Carol raises a finger. “Not the fun fighting kind of war; the boring trade dispute kind.” She gives Val a warning look that’s completely belied by the way she’s clearly suppressing a grin. “There’ll be summits about tax rates. Conferences. Correspondence. So many meetings, Val. So many.” “You wouldn’t.” “Try me.” “Oh.” Val allows herself a leisurely, appreciative once-over of the princess to be, ending with a brazen grin. “I’m thinking I will.” or: Carol does Val a favor. Val enjoys the view.
