Fics like High Tide

The one thing he hadn’t lost was his appetite. His memories might be petals on the wind never to be seen again, and his name might be lost forever, but his appetite was still strong. Anita is happy to drag him to each stall in the market, speaking in her native tongue so confidently and swiftly that he only catches key phrases. She walks away with something she calls tanghulu and her face brightens when he tries a bite and makes a delighted noise. It reminds him of— (“It’s called tanghulu, Allen! Here, try some!” Lenalee says, thrusting a skewer of caramelized sugar and fruit in his face. This was days before everything fell apart.) —nothing. His Innocence isn't the only thing destroyed when Tyki attacks him in China. His memories are in shreds too. Just when he thinks everything he's lost will be gone forever, he catches a glimpse of someone Auntie Anita calls an Exorcist.
