Fics like and though i burn (how could i fall?)

Kaveh sways forward; the grip tightens. The coffee warms. The sun rises on the desert’s unforgiving sand. “Alhaitham,” he sighs. “Alhaitham, I want to go home.” It’s a truth, one Kaveh normally buries so deep it cannot even remember what it is like to see the light. But alcohol has made him soft and the familiar smell renders him weak. He wants to go home. He always wants what he cannot have. Flowers and sand. Paper and turpentine. - - - When Kaveh's heats reappear after years without one, Kaveh is unprepared for just how strong his need can be. It's a good thing he's not alone any longer.
