Fics like dormancy

Everyone seems to think he’s putting on a show for the cameras when he talks about the Games. Schlatt will offer him a drink after television appearances, Niki will pat him on the shoulder, Tommy will try to hug him through it. But, truly, part of him thinks it’s the only time he gets to be himself. Being at home with Tommy is more of a performance than he ever put on in the Capitol. - In biology, dormancy refers to a period in an organism's life cycle when growth, development, and physical activity are temporarily stopped, typically as a response to adverse environmental conditions.
