Fics like And They Were Neighbors

Michael was tired. The first day of rehearsal was always a bit tricky. Especially when you felt so out of practice - which was indeed what Michael felt. It wasn't as if it had been bad. And if he repeated it enough, he could almost believe it. A knock on the door pulled him from his thoughts. “I wasn't expecting a visitor,” he said, beaming when he opened his dressing room door to see a smiling David. His exhaustion seemed to evaporate upon seeing that glowing face. “Surprise.” He shrugged, though his bright smile betrayed his attempt at casualness. He'd wanted to surprise Michael. They'd both been busy with their own work and hadn’t had much time to get away. On the spur of the moment, the younger man had formulated an idea and planned to set it in motion.
