Fics like and now we never talk about it

"And now we never talk about it." David's breath hitches in his throat as he catches it; that brief, fraction of a second where Michael's face slips, dims, he forgets to smile. For the tiniest of moments, a moment nobody but David would even notice, the pain and hurt are feathered into every line of Michael's perfect face, and oh, fuck, it's more than he can bear. The thing is he knows, he does, that it's all his fault, that he's the cause of his best friend's pain. Because they've not been talking about things for a very, very long time.
