Fics like Waxing Nostalgic

"A fond memory if there ever was one. One of Ai’s happiest in fact. The joyous sight of her son and his new girlfriend safely in the backseat and safely in love with one another, not to mention the fact Ruby had missed the whole thing but still snoozed without a care in the world. Not to mention, Ruby’s and MEM’s dreams of being idols had finally happened. The performance was a bone fide home run. And she was there to take it all in, to help be a part of it, not be the main attraction for once. Sans the day the twins were born, Ai had never been happier in her life, and she was grateful every day for moments like these. However, it was also a reminder of how things could have turned out much differently, if not tragically, had only one or two things had broken a different way."
