Mac goes to sleep, uncomfortable on her mattress on the floor, newspaper still crushed in her hand where the ad for a roommate has gone unanswered, and in the morning, there she is, sat at the foot of Mac’s mattress, totally nude, face radiant, wings—wings?!—charred and tucked neatly against her back. “What are you,” Mac asks, because she’s not human. “What do you think?” The angel replies, and Mac knows then that she must be an angel, because even her rolling eyes seem sort of divine. (or, dennis is an angel, and mac is head over heels)
