Fics like Things That Go Bump in the Night

He listens carefully, wondering if maybe it’s just another thing his frightened imagination has conjured up, but then he hears it again. There’s someone downstairs. Adam has visions of a dark figure in a pig mask jumping out from the shadows to knock him out, and drag them both off to some godforsaken torture chamber to face another sick test. His heart is pounding as he reaches out to lay a hand on the sleeping body next to him. Lawrence is solid and warm, and he grumbles a little as Adam gently shakes him. “Lawrence,” he whispers, his ears straining to hear any further noise. “Lawrence, wake up.” Lawrence shifts a little. Another soft thump from downstairs. “Lawrence.” Adam tries to keep the panic from his voice. “Lawrence, fuck.” Lawrence blinks his eyes open, yawning. “Sweetheart?” “I think there’s someone downstairs.” OR Adam hears noises in the middle of the night, and thinks that Jigsaw has come for them again.
